What this is
An employer that wants to hire a foreign professional on an H-1B visa files a petition with USCIS. The agency publishes, for each employer and city, how many new and continuing petitions it approved or denied in a fiscal year. This site gathers the cities of each employer into one record. This site keeps the companies — names that carry Inc, LLC, Corp and the like — and makes them searchable by name, type and place.
Who uses it
- Suppliers and landlords — is this company in the United States file, and since when?
- Sales teams — companies by type and place, and the newest ones.
- Owners — your own record as the source publishes it.
What it is not
Not USCIS, and not a certificate. Individuals and names without a company word are left out. Fiscal year 2023 only (October 2022 to September 2023): later years are not on this site yet. Counts are petitions decided, not people employed today. The record ID is made by this site.
